I hope you don't mind if I jump in here as the definition of pump-and-hold vs pump-and-release seems to be different depending on who you ask. I think we can all agree that Alicia's pump hard, hold for 1 minute, release for 1 minute and repeat can be correctly described as pump-and-release. At the other end some pump and hold for 30 minutes or more and release for 5 minutes and repeat, I would describe as pump-and-hold. Does repeating at all mean pump-and-release? What about holding for 7 minutes? 15 minutes? I think descriptions like 7:2 and 15:5 meaning pump and hold for 7 minutes and release (best with massage during release) for 2 minutes etc. is better than just saying I do pump-and release. And then do you get even more accurate by saying that during the 7 or 15 minute hold period, an extra pump or two is added to keep the pressure up?. I say all this because I think 8lemon8's question deserves a detailed answer as a general yes or no is too vague.
