Hey! Have you cracked your cup? Whether it’s an NB cup or one of the other types of Chinese cups? I think I found a pretty good fix.
I’ve been using some cracked cups with my patch on it and it seems to do really well.
Have you ever heard of The Flex Tape?
They have those goofy ads where they spray Flex Seal on the bottom of a boat and run it across the water. I had some Flex Tape left over from a job and the thought hit me, “that would work very well on the crack because it is thick and it is very sticky and makes a great seal. First, I cleaned the surfaces from any oil residue.Then I put a piece on the inside, so it wrapped up and over the rim. Then I also put a piece on the outside so it would roll up under the rim. I use silicone rings on the rim of my cups and it fits right over the flex tape without any issue. I have found that the tape being as thick as it is, it keeps the crack from shifting or moving. Now this tape is not real cheap but it is a large enough roll that you’ll have more than enough to fix cracked cups for years. In the past I’ve tried packing tape and glues, but the tape was too thin and glue will not bond a crack like that with the pressure that is put on it, sucking your boob inside the cup. But this thick tape has a bit of stretch you might say and I think most people will find it to be a very viable solution. I hope this helps somebody.
