Long time lurker here. I was reading Mumma Bear's post on nipple stoppers. Mine have been swelling up lately and getting most of the pressure from the cups.

I don't have any plastic jars so I just tried some coffee filters because they were at the house. They seem to work ok so I thought I'd share. My nipples are definitely not swollen anymore. I may cut a little bit more off of the top of the filters for more room.
