brazilian wax?

Hi, have any of you had a brazilian wax and what was it like? I imagine it must hurt but I was just curious, was thinking of giving it a try.
My main concern (besides how many painkillers I should take) is if it would look good, my inner labia kind of stick out and I´m afraid they would be too noticeable if the hair´s gone.
Any comments/advice?

I've always wanted to have one but I ended up getting an epilator instead so I can do it myself and save money lol. From what I've heard, it doesn't hurt that bad because it's quick and they don't like you to take a painkiller because it thins your blood and you might start bleeding everywhere. I bet you only need to take the usual dose, though. I didn't need to take anything when I tried a home waxing kit (too messy :() and I've gotten used to the pain with the epilator (sort of goes numb after a while...). As for how it looks without hair, I think it's common for labia to stick out? Unless you're a pornstar and/or can afford the surgery to get them cut off lol. I worry sometimes too but then I forget about it because I haven't gone back to the bush in years ;D

well the result is same as if you shave real closely :p and yes, it does hurt like hell. and there is a higher chance of ingrowths when waxing.

I have had the brazilian wax with sugarpaste several times. This hurts significantly less than the ordinary wax. I recommend you try that. As to the last reply, I really cant see how shaving and waxing can be compared at all, as with shaving the hairs grow out quick, they are thicker for each time and you get the zits and "bumps" all over. Buy with waxing the result is.. well, I was in ecstasy the first time, felt sexy as hell and it was so smooth and looked great! My hubby was quite happy with it too ;) But I really, really recommend you do the first time with sugarwax, find a saloon that uses Phandy's sugarwax technique for instance. This is alot less painful because, unlike the ordinary wax, the sugarpaste only pulls the hairs out, leaving the skin alone. Also, you can find various products for sugarwaxing at home on ebay or so, this is ofcourse a lot cheaper. But the first time it could be an idea to do it at a salon just to see how its done. Hope this helps. And dont worry about your labia, thats normal! And it still looks good without hairs. With waxing the hairs also stays away for longer, and when they do come out they are smooth and thin.

Thanks for all of your replies! I didn´t realise there were so many different options, that´s very useful info.
And Nyx, you´ve no idea what a relief your comment about labia has been, I´ve always thought mine were a bit weird, lol. Actually the first time I ever went to a gynecologist he suggested to have them cut off (which scared the sht out of me) and although NOBODY has ever commented on them again I just assumed they were not "normal". And while you can compare boobs, you just don´t go around looking at other people´s labia, haha. It´s really silly, isn´t it, how you can get insecure about how you look, oh well.

OH my! Your gynecologist actually said that to you!?! I guess I'm out of the loop. I didn't even know such a surgery existed and sure enough google let me know... haha I guess in this day, nothing surprises any more. I think it's normal for them to stick out... mine do... *blush*

hahaha i meant as the question asked how will it look like .. not what u mentioned :) and u can get zits and bumps with waxing too , as i have been told that since the skin is used to more thicker hair then when thinner hair grows out, it often cant "pull through" if you know what i mean? so yeah

I heard that the best time to have a brazillian wax is 7 days after the start of your period as it hurts less.
