purple nipples

hi guys,

my partner has been using the NB for a couple of months now and every time she pumps her breasts fill the cups with a slight amount of discolouration, however her nipples always seem to go purple, even when she only pumps with the smallest amount of suction. she says she doesn't feel any pain or anything out of the ordinary, however purple appendages are a bit concerning for me. is this normal?

also since she's started using the NB, her nipple and areola colour have become a much lighter shade, almost skin tone colour, as opposed to the pink'ish they were before using the system. is this also normal?

Hi there,
Your partner may want to try some sort of nipple protector, there are 2 methods, the first one is to use band aids or paper tape and the second way involves inserting a blocking/padding type of thing in the cups for the nipple to push into.
There is plenty of advice all over this site, so search around and see if anyone has had similar problems.
